Family Care

Family Involvement at ThriveWell Kids

ThriveWell Kids is designed to support families — and that includes keeping parents and guardians informed and involved throughout the care process.

Ages 12–17

Parental Participation Required

Parents and legal guardians are required participants in the care process. Parental consent is required for enrollment and treatment, and parents are involved at every step — from intake through ongoing monitoring.

Certain sensitive health information may be confidential to the adolescent under California law; see our Notice of Privacy Practices for details.

Ages 18–21

Family Involvement Welcome & Encouraged

Adult patients make their own medical decisions and sign their own consent forms under California law. However, many young adults in this age group choose to involve a parent, guardian, or other trusted family member in their care — and ThriveWell Kids welcomes and encourages that involvement.

With the adult patient’s permission, Dr. Winderman is happy to include a parent or family member in visits, share progress updates, and coordinate care as a team.

Family involvement for adult patients is always voluntary, always at the patient’s direction, and never a condition of enrollment or treatment.
