Frequently Asked Questions
We understand families have important questions. Here are clear answers to common questions
Getting Started
Getting started is simple. Complete our brief online screening form — it takes about 5 minutes. Our clinical team will review your submission and reach out to schedule a physician consultation, all virtually from your home.
No referral is required to begin the screening process. However, if your child has existing medical records or prior treatment history, sharing them can help our physicians provide the most thorough evaluation possible.
Our free screening collects basic health and lifestyle information about your teen. A physician reviews this information before your first consultation to ensure our program is clinically appropriate and safe for your child.
Most families complete the screening in under 10 minutes. Once submitted, our team typically follows up within 1–2 business days. From there, your first physician consultation can be scheduled within the week.
Safety & Medical Oversight
GLP-1 receptor agonists have been studied in adolescents and are FDA-approved for use in teens meeting specific clinical criteria. Our program only recommends medications where the clinical evidence supports safety and efficacy in this age group, always under close physician supervision.
Safety is our primary concern. Our physicians schedule regular check-in consultations, monitor lab results, track progress, and are always available for urgent concerns. Families also receive direct access to our clinical team between appointments.
The most commonly reported side effects are gastrointestinal, such as mild nausea or stomach discomfort, which typically subside as the body adjusts. Our physicians guide families through what to expect and how to manage any symptoms before they arise.
Existing conditions are carefully reviewed during your physician consultation. Some conditions may affect eligibility or require coordination with your child's other healthcare providers. We always prioritize a whole-child approach to care.
Medication Questions
Our physicians evaluate each patient individually and may prescribe FDA-approved GLP-1 receptor agonists as clinically indicated. The specific medication, dosage, and schedule are determined entirely by our physicians based on your child's health history and needs.
Program fees cover physician consultations, care coordination, and clinical support. Medication is prescribed separately and fulfilled through a pharmacy. Our team will guide you through the pharmacy process and any applicable insurance or assistance programs.
GLP-1 injections use a very fine needle and are typically well-tolerated by teens and young adults. Most patients report minimal discomfort. Our team provides thorough guidance on proper technique to make the process as comfortable as possible.
Treatment length varies based on individual health goals and physician recommendations. Our program requires a minimum 3-month commitment to allow adequate time for safe dose titration, clinical monitoring, and meaningful progress assessment. Regular reviews are conducted to assess progress and adjust the plan accordingly.
Virtual Care & Appointments
Yes. From your initial screening through ongoing follow-ups, everything is conducted online. There are no required in-person visits. Prescriptions are sent to your pharmacy, and our clinical team is accessible through our secure platform.
Video consultations provide the best care experience and allow our physicians to conduct thorough assessments. While video is strongly encouraged, we do our best to accommodate families on a case-by-case basis.
Our support team is happy to help. If you experience technical issues before or during an appointment, contact us and we'll reschedule without any inconvenience to your family.
Absolutely — we encourage parent participation. Our physician-guided program views the family as a core part of the care team. Parents are welcome and expected to join consultations, especially for patients under 18.
Eligibility Questions
Our program is designed for adolescents and young adults aged 12 to 21. Each candidate undergoes a thorough physician review to confirm clinical appropriateness regardless of age within this range.
We encourage families to complete the screening regardless of uncertainty. Our physicians evaluate each case holistically — not just BMI numbers. Weight-related health concerns and overall wellness are considered as part of the assessment.
If our program isn't the right fit, we don't simply say no. We do our best to guide families toward other appropriate care resources and options. Every family deserves support, and we take that responsibility seriously.
Pricing & Insurance
Our program pricing is transparent and outlined on our Pricing page. We offer clear, flat-rate plans with no hidden fees. Our team is happy to walk through what's included during your initial consultation.
Medication costs are separate from program fees and depend on pharmacy pricing, insurance coverage, and the specific medication prescribed. We help families navigate available discount programs and insurance options wherever possible.
Coverage varies by plan and insurer. We recommend checking with your insurance provider regarding telehealth and obesity medicine benefits. Our care team can help you understand your options and provide documentation where needed.
No. We believe in complete pricing transparency. All fees are clearly communicated upfront. There are no surprise charges — what you see on our pricing page is what you pay for the program itself.
